Angry LaRoche signs one year deal with D-Backs

No $$ disclosed, pending physical of course.

We can't overpay for guys like this who would rather play anywhere but here.

The Arizona Diamondbacks agreed to terms Thursday on a one-year deal with Adam LaRoche, a baseball source told MLB.com.

The signing -- still pending a physical -- would mean LaRoche becomes the team's everyday first baseman. That moves Conor Jackson to left field and makes Gerardo Parra the club's fourth outfielder.

LaRoche batted .277 with 25 homers and 83 RBIs in 150 games for the Pirates, Red Sox and Braves in 2009. The 30-year-old lefty hitter has notched 20-plus homers in each of his past five seasons -- including 32 with the Braves in '06 -- and sports a career .274 batting average with 136 homers in six seasons in the big leagues.

Can't blame sabean, if the guy doesn't want to play for San Fran, then more money won't do it. He would rather take a big cut. Although, maybe he just didn't want to play for bochy, which actually makes sense.

That and doesn't want to take a huge hit on power numbers. After 2 years in SF he will be right around 12-15 Hr's a year. AZ will give him his 25 plus Hr's this year and he can test the market again. Its all personal numbers and $ with LaRoche, which is obvious with the choice of teams and venue. He could care less if he wins he just wants to make the most $ he can, good for him. Definelty someone I would not want on the Giants then.
